Yamhill — Travelers should expect daytime lane closures and delays on Oregon 47 between Yamhill and Carlton starting Wednesday, Aug.13. Crews will be applying a scrub seal to help preserve the road and extend its life.

Work schedule:

  • Scrub seal: Wednesday through Friday, Aug. 13 - 15, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • Fog seal: Monday, Aug. 18, starting around 8 a.m.

  • Striping: Expected in late Aug.; temporary reflective markers will be used until then.

This work is weather dependent and may be rescheduled.

Drivers should slow down and use caution in the work zone. Loose gravel will remain on the road until the fog seal is complete. “Loose gravel” and “do not pass” signs will stay up during that time.

What to expect:

  • Delays and pilot car escorts through the work zone.

  • Flaggers at many intersections to help local traffic.

  • “Wait for pilot car” signs at smaller driveways and side roads—please do not enter the highway until a pilot car arrives.

Bicycle riders should be prepared for traveling on rock chip covered highway sections behind a pilot car.

Motorists should expect some loose gravel on the roadway for several days after this operation and are advised to slow down and allow extra space between vehicles.

Scrub seal applications help protect and extend the life of the existing road and provide a smooth ride.

Funding Information

While ODOT’s funding crisis is having a profound impact on maintenance and operations, most construction projects will continue. These projects are typically funded through separate programs, often with state or federal funds that are legally restricted to project development, and cannot be used for maintenance or day-to-day operations.
