Independent Auditor's Report
The City of Carlton is audited every year by an independent auditor. Municipalities are required to annually submit audited financial statements to the Secretary of State under ORS 297.425
Copies of the recent audit are available for review online below or online at Oregon State Audit Division.
The Auditor is chosen by the council through an RFP process and is reviewed every three years. An independent audit promotes transparency and accountability.
The auditors check for the following:
- Policy
- Fraud
- Cash Receipts
- Cash Payments
- Payroll
- General Ledger entries
- Areas of Concern from board members
