PRESS RELEASE_PUBLIC NOTICE: Stage 1 Water Curtailment - Odd/Even Watering - Starts July 9, 2018

Carlton, Oregon – June 29, 2018 – The City of Carlton’s Public Works Director Bryan Burnham initiated Stage 1 of the City’s Water Curtailment Plan as defined by the October 2014 Water Management and Conservation Plan.  This is a proactive measure designed to reduce demand on the City’s water system and the potential for a water shortage and decreased water quality when minor maintenance work or damage repair is required at water mains or reservoirs or if drought conditions exist.

Stage 1 implements a mandatory odd-even day restriction by address for the watering of lawns.  This means odd numbered addresses may water their lawns on odd numbered days and even numbered addresses may water on even numbered days beginning on Monday, July 9, 2018, until further notice.

More information about the water curtailment along with the complete Water Management and Conservation Plan is available for public viewing at City Hall during regular business hours and on the city’s website (https://www.ci.carlton.or.us/publicworks/page/water-management-and-conservation-plan).
