PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE: 1/8/2019 Consideration of Proposed Undergrounding of Private Utilities

Notice is hereby given that the Carlton City Council will hold a public hearing shortly after 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, regarding the proposed undergrounding of overhead utilities on a portion of Highway 47 within the City of Carlton.

The public hearing will be held as follows:

Date:                     Tuesday, January 8, 2019

Time:                     7:00 p.m.

Location:              Carlton City Hall, Council Chambers, 191 East Main Street, Carlton, Oregon.

Purpose: The purpose of the public hearing is to accept oral and written public testimony regarding a proposed Resolution authorizing the imposition of undergrounding of certain private utilities in conjunction with an Oregon Department of Transportation reconstruction of Main Street and portions of State Highway 47 within the city. Any interested individuals may appear to provide comments. Written testimony will be accepted up to and during the public hearing.

Background:   Oregon Revised Statute ORS 758.025 permits the Carlton City Council to initiate relocation of utilities relating to highway rights of way. City Franchise Agreements contain applicable requirements for undergrounding of above ground utilities.
