Officers & Kids Play Baseball

On Thursday, June 14, 2023, Carlton officer Timothy Jordan and Chief Kevin Martinez joined in some fun at the Yamhill – Carlton Elementary School park picnic. The officers got to play a little baseball with some of the 3rd graders and officer Jordan and Chief Martinez even helped one of the teams score a point after both of them (almost) hit homeruns.

Check out the links below to watch a bit of the fun that was had!

Elementary School Lunch Pail Program

Carlton Police Officers stop by the Yamhill-Carlton Elementary School to have lunch with the students.  Officers then join the students on the playground for a game of basketball or wallball.  This provides a positive presence on the campus in an effort to establish a strong relationship with staff and students, as well as deter active threat situations.

Holiday Patrol

During the Holiday Season, the Carlton Police Department teams up with Santa to deliver teddy bears and candy to the youth in the Carlton community as part of their "Holiday Patrol" program.  Donations of stuffed animals from Kay Jewelers help make this possible.

National Night Out

National Night Out is celebrated annually on the first Tuesday in August from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The National Night Out campaign was introduced in 1984 as a way of encouraging community members to become acquainted and band together against crime through networking with first responders on site. Each year has a different theme, with live music, giveaways, carnival activities, crime prevention material, and food all for free.  In the campaign's first year, it reached over 2 million neighbors in around 200 communities. Now, 38 years later the outreach has spread to around 16 thousand communities and touched 38 million neighbors.
